Pinwheels are here! And they spin!

I received a big box of pinwheels in the mail on Friday, but that was the same day that the new Spa I'll be working at had their Grand opening so I was too busy to post until now! I'm happy to say the New Spa had a great grand opening, but hat also means I may not be doing quite as much design work. We'll see. Now onto the Pinwheels!

My daughter Bella, who is almost 3 now (WOW!) loves Pinwheels, she used to call them airplanes, but now knows that they are different. While we were out for a walk one day we saw some in a neighbors yard and it hit me all of a sudden, why not a coin? It would be a fun summer idea so I ran with it. That was last May (2007). Now after some re-designs they are finally here, at least at my house, I haven't seen the pre-sale for Geoswag yet.

As you can see there are 2 versions. A colorful pinwheel and a patriotic pinwheel. Geoswag is producing a rainbow colored Pinwheel, this was the one that my design was based off of. It's full of bright vibrant colors. My colorful version is not a rainbow, I played around with many color variations but in the end chose to use 4 colors. They remind me of Mardi Gras. My version is on satin silver and uses soft enamel. A total of 28 of this Artist Edition were produced of which 25 are for sale. See below for sale info.

My Patriotic version features glitter blue in the flag on the front side only. They are also on Satin Silver and only 28 of this Artist Edition were produced of which 25 are for sale.

All of my Artist Edition coins are trackable and share an icon with their store version counterparts. They are extremely limited and will NEVER be made again. These coins will be available first through my blog.

The set (1 of each) is available for $44.00 including shipping and handling in the USA, if you are OUTSIDE the USA an additional charge of $1.00 will be added. If you would like to purchase this set, please send an email to sales@wicksworksdesign.com, include the number of coins you would like, your country and a Paypal address for your invoice.

Thank you for your continued interest in my designs, I hope to have something new soon!

Out of town - No shipping

I am out of town from Friday 08/08/08 to Monday 08/11/08. I will be able to check emails, and process orders/invoices, but I will not be able to ship anything. I *may* be able to make some small changes on previously completed art, but only as time allows. This is another of our Summer Family Vacations, we're not at MWGB, sadly, but taking Bella to the Aquarium is just as much fun! I hope you all understand. I try very hard to balance my massage job, design job and family and am learning how to do this better all the time. Your patience is GREATLY appreciated. Thanks so much and see you soon!

The Flip Flops have arrived!!!

I'm so excited, they are here! I received the Geoswag newsletter last week just as I was walking out the door to go to work, so when I got home I logged onto the site to see how the sales were going. I always do this, to my complete amazement they were SOLD OUT of flip flops. WOW! What a rush for me. This means that my designs are still liked, I doubt myself from time to time, but yay!! You really do like me!

So onto the news. The Flip Flops are here and in my hands. Normally I set my prices based on the stores sales, it's usually double their listed price. I do this for several reasons. 1. In the past I have found that setting the price similarly to what one or two sell for on ebay typically makes them too high in cost. 2. Because my time isn't free, each design I do takes me away from my daughter. And while I get to work from home, it still means that I have to close the door to my office, which is also her bedroom to focus. & 3. Because I know that my versions are rare, with only 30 typically in circulation it makes them harder to get. & 4. Because I am now a registered business and I have to pay taxes on my sales. What all that boils down to is that the Flip Flops will be $20.00 each instead of my usual $15.00. Combined shipping and handeling for the set is $4.00 in the US, $5.00 everywhere else.

Now onto the pictures and differences!
The Beach Version: The Artist Edition is on Shiny Nickel and feature imitation hard enamel. I also changed some of the colors. There is a more vibrant turquoise sky, I changed one surfboard to a bright pink, the other standing board has red yellow and blue, and the board on it's side now has yellow, green, blue and purple.
The Hibiscus Flip Flops are pretty easy to see the differences. Again they are on shiny nickel and have imitation hard enameling. Blue background with light greenish white flowers. The flowers on the Artist Edition Glow in the Dark!!!
So there you have it! If you are interested in purchasing one or both of these coins please send me an email with your order and paypal information to sales@wicksworksdesign.com There will only be 20 of each of these coins available for sale as of right now. A total of 30 of the Beach flips and 28 of the Hibiscus flips exist. Yep - 28, because I asked for 2 special Hibiscus ones to be made for me to sell for the March of Dimes in January 2009. More on those will follow at another time!
