New coins coming soon!

I just got the notice from Oak Coins that 2 of my designs should be ready soon! So I should have these coins in hand by next week. I know it's very close to Christmas but they are available for pre-order and I will get them in the mail just as soon as they hit my front door!

The first is a Nutcracker coin. The idea was mine but we had Gridlox work out the art. My version is on Satin Gold and features several translucent colors. The store versions are on Shiny Gold and Shiny Nickel and do NOT have any translucents. These coins are $15.00 each plus shipping and handling. They will go up to $18.50 after the New Year so get in on this while they last. I will only have 28 of these.

The second is the Peaceful Dove, a sun catcher coin, my first! I call my version the Sunburst version. It features varrying yellows and oranges, just like the sun! They will be on Shiny copper. These coins are also $15.00 plus shipping and handling. They will also go up to $18.50 after the New Year so get in on them while they last. I will only have 28 of these as well.

RARE SAMPLES for sale

Due to a family issue that has gotten worse I am forced to sell off some of my RARE NON-production Samples.

I will be listing these on ebay shortly unless I get some amazing offer via email (wicksworksdesign@gmail.com)

These are NON-production samples which means that they were not chosen for production in the styles listed.

1. The Ultimate Mystery Cache - Stonehenge - Bronze with Soft enamel this is one of only 2 samples produced. It is NOT trackable.

2. Geocacher on Board - Two-tone Polished Copper with Polished Gold this is one of only 2 samples produced. It is NOT trackable.

3. What was in your mailbox today V.1 Polished Gold with translucent RED enamel. Engraved Oakcoins. This is one of only 2 samples produced. It is NOT trackable.

4. Lizard. Lizard. Imitation Hard Enamel (Red) on Polished Nickel - This has the ORIGINAL backside, not the one that was produced and sold. It was originally supposed to have a map of the world on the back of the 3 lizards, but due to a problem at the mint this was changed. This is one of only 2 samples produced. It is only for 1 coin, the Red one. It is NOT trackable.

I would not part with these unless I absolutely had no other choice. These coins have been in protective sleeves since I received them. They have been a part of my portfolio and have traveled to many events and gatherings. They show the evolution of my workmanship. I will not be able to take any NEW pictures of these until tomorrow, however if I have some currently and you'd like to see them I am happy to share them.

Stop and Smell the Roses!

Last April (2007) I began working on a design with roses and butterflies. Actually I had the rose side done first and was stumped as to what to put on the back, then one day I saw wings in the fringes of the petals, so I started drawing, cutting and pasting and a week or so later I had a finished design. I was so excited with this design, it felt like something special to me. When I shopped it I got great responses from everyone but at the time they all had too much on their plates. Then someone suggested I take it to a vendor that I had no experience with. I was hesitant, but showed it to them. They liked it immediately and told me what their buying program was. It sounded like a good deal for me and them so I agreed. This was just before GW5 so understandably they were quite busy. About a month after the event we continued talking but I was told that their buyer program had changed. Since my agreement had been made prior to the change they honored it. For several reasons we went back and forth on the design, partly because I am inexperienced with different types of enamels and partly because, well I don't know. The coin FINALLY went on presale on the vendors site in March, no, April, no MAY of this year, a full year later! After the sales I received an email asking me what changes I wanted made for my versions as well as how many I would receive. I was told I would have them in June. June came and went, so did July so I asked where my coins were. After several emails it was agreed upon that my coins were lost, so a new order would be made. Last week my coins arrived! The coins are beautiful, much nicer than I had expected them to be, and I honestly wish I could order more of the Red Rose on Black nickel as it is simply amazing! Unfortunately I can't so what I have to offer for sale are 2 versions.

Glow in the Dark White Rose on Shiny Nickel $18.50
Translucent Red Rose on Shiny Nickel $18.50
(+S/H $2.50 for the first coin $.50 for each additional) Don't forget to check my site to see what else I have available! www.wicksworksdesign.com

6- Glow inthe Dark White on Black Nickel
3 - Glow in the Dark White on Shiny Gold

Pinwheels are here! And they spin!

I received a big box of pinwheels in the mail on Friday, but that was the same day that the new Spa I'll be working at had their Grand opening so I was too busy to post until now! I'm happy to say the New Spa had a great grand opening, but hat also means I may not be doing quite as much design work. We'll see. Now onto the Pinwheels!

My daughter Bella, who is almost 3 now (WOW!) loves Pinwheels, she used to call them airplanes, but now knows that they are different. While we were out for a walk one day we saw some in a neighbors yard and it hit me all of a sudden, why not a coin? It would be a fun summer idea so I ran with it. That was last May (2007). Now after some re-designs they are finally here, at least at my house, I haven't seen the pre-sale for Geoswag yet.

As you can see there are 2 versions. A colorful pinwheel and a patriotic pinwheel. Geoswag is producing a rainbow colored Pinwheel, this was the one that my design was based off of. It's full of bright vibrant colors. My colorful version is not a rainbow, I played around with many color variations but in the end chose to use 4 colors. They remind me of Mardi Gras. My version is on satin silver and uses soft enamel. A total of 28 of this Artist Edition were produced of which 25 are for sale. See below for sale info.

My Patriotic version features glitter blue in the flag on the front side only. They are also on Satin Silver and only 28 of this Artist Edition were produced of which 25 are for sale.

All of my Artist Edition coins are trackable and share an icon with their store version counterparts. They are extremely limited and will NEVER be made again. These coins will be available first through my blog.

The set (1 of each) is available for $44.00 including shipping and handling in the USA, if you are OUTSIDE the USA an additional charge of $1.00 will be added. If you would like to purchase this set, please send an email to sales@wicksworksdesign.com, include the number of coins you would like, your country and a Paypal address for your invoice.

Thank you for your continued interest in my designs, I hope to have something new soon!

Out of town - No shipping

I am out of town from Friday 08/08/08 to Monday 08/11/08. I will be able to check emails, and process orders/invoices, but I will not be able to ship anything. I *may* be able to make some small changes on previously completed art, but only as time allows. This is another of our Summer Family Vacations, we're not at MWGB, sadly, but taking Bella to the Aquarium is just as much fun! I hope you all understand. I try very hard to balance my massage job, design job and family and am learning how to do this better all the time. Your patience is GREATLY appreciated. Thanks so much and see you soon!

The Flip Flops have arrived!!!

I'm so excited, they are here! I received the Geoswag newsletter last week just as I was walking out the door to go to work, so when I got home I logged onto the site to see how the sales were going. I always do this, to my complete amazement they were SOLD OUT of flip flops. WOW! What a rush for me. This means that my designs are still liked, I doubt myself from time to time, but yay!! You really do like me!

So onto the news. The Flip Flops are here and in my hands. Normally I set my prices based on the stores sales, it's usually double their listed price. I do this for several reasons. 1. In the past I have found that setting the price similarly to what one or two sell for on ebay typically makes them too high in cost. 2. Because my time isn't free, each design I do takes me away from my daughter. And while I get to work from home, it still means that I have to close the door to my office, which is also her bedroom to focus. & 3. Because I know that my versions are rare, with only 30 typically in circulation it makes them harder to get. & 4. Because I am now a registered business and I have to pay taxes on my sales. What all that boils down to is that the Flip Flops will be $20.00 each instead of my usual $15.00. Combined shipping and handeling for the set is $4.00 in the US, $5.00 everywhere else.

Now onto the pictures and differences!
The Beach Version: The Artist Edition is on Shiny Nickel and feature imitation hard enamel. I also changed some of the colors. There is a more vibrant turquoise sky, I changed one surfboard to a bright pink, the other standing board has red yellow and blue, and the board on it's side now has yellow, green, blue and purple.
The Hibiscus Flip Flops are pretty easy to see the differences. Again they are on shiny nickel and have imitation hard enameling. Blue background with light greenish white flowers. The flowers on the Artist Edition Glow in the Dark!!!
So there you have it! If you are interested in purchasing one or both of these coins please send me an email with your order and paypal information to sales@wicksworksdesign.com There will only be 20 of each of these coins available for sale as of right now. A total of 30 of the Beach flips and 28 of the Hibiscus flips exist. Yep - 28, because I asked for 2 special Hibiscus ones to be made for me to sell for the March of Dimes in January 2009. More on those will follow at another time!

News about the Roses & Pinwheels

OK! So I just found out that my Rose delivery was delayed because they were awaiting 2 Special Roses that I asked for for the March of Dimes. So hopefully these will arrive by this weekend!

Also some news about the Pinwheels. They are going into production, along with the flip flops, and I made 1 change. My "Rainbow" version will no longer be rainbow. I had originally picked out some brighter color codes for mine, but they were just too close to the store versions, so I sent back a new color scheme, 4 colors, kinda Mardi Gras-ish, Purple, Lime, Yellow and Fushia. I'll post pictures as soon as I have them, I'm guessing 4 weeks.

That's all the news for now.

More Pics & More News!

Things have been rolling along quite smoothly here for me lately, and thankfully! I shipped out all of the Chinese and Japanese Fans a couple of weeks ago and so far everyone has received them! I had a couple mistakes but they were quickly resolved and I hope everyone is happy, I haven't heard otherwise so I'll go with no news is good news.

In early May I had an idea for another fun summer design, Flip Flops! I've been working with Emma at Oak Coins on a lot of my projects, and she must have really liked these. Just 10 short days after mentioning it and showing my rough drafts I had blueprint art! WOW!!! Then to my surprise and delight last week I received the samples! Take a look......

For more pictures of the Flip Flops go here.

Next on the horizon should be my Pinwheels! They are also being produced by Oakcoins for Geoswag.com. I turned in my color choices for them just last night, so I think they are finally going into full production. The wait has been hard, but it's for the best because now you will receive a good, quality coin! Did I mention that they spin!!! I don't have any samples since the art was redone, so I'm looking forward to their arrival just as much as you are!

I'm still anxiously awaiting the arrival of my Roses too! There will actually be several versions, I just can't remember how many. I think I will have at least 20 in red and 20 in white for sale, I"ll post here as soon as they arrive!

Hmmm....what else is there I can share...oh yes! how about a Sneak Peak?!!! This is a design I submitted last year in May. I guess it got overlooked in September 07, but it is coming just in time for this September. This is September coin for the Geoswag Coin and Pin Club.

I was born and raised in upstate NY, the Big Apple state! So it just sorta made sense for me to draw up this design. I hope you like it!

These AE's will be $15.00 each plus shipping ($3.50 for the first .50 each additional + $1.00 outside the USA). If you would like to reserve one please send an email to: Reservations@wicksworksdesign.com! No more than 2 of each design per person please!

The Lizards are here!!!

I'm so excited...after more than a year of waiting they are finally here, and completely sold out at Hogwild Stuff!!!

I heard rumors that these little guys made their debut at GW6, unfortunately I wasn't there to see their big reveal! Mine however arrived yesterday!!! I am sooooo thrilled to see how they turned out. Hogwild Stuff did a GREAT job getting these produced. I have a VERY limited number of these sets. ONLY 15 exist in my color scheme in fact. ONLY 10 sets of mine will be available for sale right now. Because these are so limited I will not be charging my regular $15.00/coin fee. I'm sorry. Please understand that this design went through over 26 re-designs (that was my last numbered version, I gave up counting after that). I did these all by hand and trying to get them to fit just right, well it's was beyond frustrating. So my price for this Limited Artist Edition is $60.00 per set. If you would like a set please drop me an email.

Cereal Artist on the Loose!

Last night I was posting in the pathtags forums and made a remark about the community there being great! All I heard in my head after that was "They're Grreat!" so what did I do? Made a pathtag design of course. Oh but I didn't stop there! Coming soon to my website (it's loading right now) and available for sale like the other Ready Made tags are:

That was fast! They are here and I am in the process of filling orders from my reserve list. Once those orders are full the remainder will go on ebay. I did get fewer than expected so we'll see how this turns out.

Coins on the way!

I got notice yesterday that TWO of my designs are in the mail on their way to me as I write this! I'm soooo excited. Both the Chinese and Japanese Fans have been put into the mail and should be here next week. These have been a long time coming. I designed them last year, kinda by accident. Originally it was one coin. It had the Wall of China on one side and some Cherry Blossoms on the other. When I showed it to my husband he said it was nice but that Cherry blossoms were more representative of Japan! He should know, he loves all things Eastern. So I went back to the drawing board so to speak. I had ton find something that represented Japan and a flower for China. What I got was the Tori Gate for Japan and Lotus Flowers for China and TWO fan designs! These have been produced by Oakcoins. Thanks Christian and Emma for all you have done! I really appreciate it and love working with you!

Next, another super design that was started a long time ago. I actually have no idea what they will be officially called, but they are my MC Escher Lizards. Since I was a little girl I've been fascinated by the art of MC Escher. Starting with the picture Metamorphosis. I thought the lizards would be a great and fun addition to Geocoins. After designing these babies I have a renewed respect for Mr. Escher. I know his Lizards were geometrically formed, I like to think of them as Math based. This is probably the best way to make them so that they fit together properly, but I'm not good at geometry so I freehanded them. Over 21 attempts (I stopped counting then) to get them to each fit into one another in every angle. Try it for yourself when you see them! They will fit together in every position! Special thanks goes to Steve and Sharon at Hogwild Stuff for making these Lizards come to life!!!

Pictures of both to come as soon as I have them!!!

Web updates, designs & more.

In case you haven't noticed my website has had some updates. This was excruciatingly time consuming!!! I use the Yahoo site builder because they are my host. I have frontpage, but the yahoo one was a whole lot easier, until recently. I've been a bit annoyed that I had to move every image every time I added more to the page. I've looked at gallery programs but honestly, I'm just not that technologically advanced yet! So I thought back and remembered tables. So I've been putting all the designs into tables so all I have to move is the tables. Seems easy enough. Apparently there is some bug in the site builder because I would add an image and it would crash. Id get back in, rinse and repeat until I got fed up enough to hard boot down my computer and start all over again. This happened many, many times...grrrrr

But, as a result, the site it nicer, I hope!

I have been very very busy lately between organizing the Tag of the Month and regular orders, but I did notice some of my completed work in the galleries!

And lastly I've received the NEW art for the Pinwheels!!!!! They have a new petal and will spin symmetrically! I am SOOOOO excited about these!

A Couple recent designs

I just noticed a couple designs I did recently showed up in the Gallery at Pathtags.com! I also began re-working the What's in your mailbox? V.3 coin today!

Wednesday, May 28, 2008

It's been awhile!

It occured to me this week that updating my website every single time I do something is very time consuming. (duh) so I searched out and found my old blog. I'll be using this from now on to talk about anything new I have done that isn't exactly time sensitive. Here you will find Ready-Made tag designs I'm working on. Completed Tag designs I've done for other folks. Coins I'm working on (once in production that is, can't have the ideas stolen out from under me!) And maybe some things for sale occasionally. So if you want to see what I'm up to check back often!
